Irena is inspired by Irena Sendlerowa, a Polish humanitarian, social worker, nurse, and educator. Irena was recognized and honored for taking actions that saved thousands of lives during World War II. One of those actions was to provide falsified paperwork and help smuggle approximately 2500 Jewish children out of German-occupied Warsaw.
