Lise is named after Lise Meitner, who was one of a few women allowed to work in science in the 1930s, but she was also the foremost nuclear scientist in Germany. She discovered uranium's ability to store nuclear energy and had her own chemical element named after her (meitnerium). She was, Albert Einstein once said, Germany’s own Marie Curie.
